Centered around a sculptural teapot modeled after John Galliano, the work translates the designer’s unmistakable visual language into a functional object: sharp tailoring, exaggerated proportions, theatrical styling, and the tension between elegance and provocation. Accompanying vessels draw from the broader mythology surrounding Galliano’s work, including corsetry, tailoring, and the fashion newspaper.
Equal parts portrait, fashion artifact, and domestic object, the set plays with the peculiar intimacy of consuming from the image of an icon. Fashion history becomes tableware; reverence becomes ritual.
